Helga Winters, age 68, of 539 Dooley's Ridge Road, Mountain City, passed away Monday, February 5, 2007, at the Johnson County Community Hospital following a lengthy illness.

She was born October 13, 1938, to the late Hermann and Margaret Hauser Roth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a foster sister, Memmi Andres; and a great grandson, Cameron Dishman.

She was a retired cook and a member of the Ackerson Creek Christian Church and was a Sunday School Teacher.

She loved gardening, cooking and loved her family and others dearly.

Survivors include: Husband: Philip Winters, of Mountain City; Three daughters: Monika and Husband, John Burgess, of Mountain City, Rosalie South, of Mountain City, Susan and Husband, Tommy Lipford, of Mountain City; One son: Helmut and wife, Marriane Roth, of Munich, Germany; Two foster brothers: Ruttie Fiegel, of Munich, Germany, Max Fiegel of Munich, Germany; Four grandchildren: Temica South, Heather Burgess, Tiffany South and Vanessa Potter; One great granddaughter: Avery Dishman. Several Nieces and Nephew also survived.

Funeral services for Helga Winters will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 9, 2007, from the Chapel of the Henson Funeral Home with Mr. Jim Hutchinson, Mr. Bud Gentry and Mr. Bill Reece, Ministers, to officiate.

Music will be under the direction of Kerry Gentry.

Graveside services and Burial will be in the Winters Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Frankie South, Jimmy South, John Burgess, Curtis Moorefield, Travis Johnson and Joey Dishman.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Members of Johnson County Rescue Squad, Dr. Buddy Clayton and Tennessee District 5 Little League.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p. m. Thursday, February 8, 2007, from the Funeral Home chapel. Friends may call at the family residence 539 Dooley's Ridge Road, Mountain City, at any time.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Johnson County Rescue Squad, 203 Vandilla Street, Mountain City, TN 37683; or Ackerson Creek Christian Church, c/o Tim Furches, 2030 Red Brush Road, Mountain City, TN 37683.
