MONTICELLO, Feb. 20 – Lawrence county relatives mourn the passing of Mrs. F. M. Cannon, sixty years, old, who died at the family home seven miles from Monticello after a lingering illness. She had been confined to her bed for nineteen months. Mrs. Cannon was a native of Lawrence County and had spent her entire life in the county. Before her marriage thirty years ago, she was Miss Cora Armstrong, member of a well-known and widely-connected family. She was a faithful member of the Old Silver Creek Baptist church having united with this church in early girlhood.

Interment took place in the family plot of the church cemetery. Besides her aged husband, F. M. Cannon, she is survived by three sisters; Mrs. Luther Polk, Prentiss; Mrs. John Bourn, Oakville; Mrs. P. R. Thurman, Newhebron; and five brothers; John R. Armstrong, Jackson; L. L. and E. M. Armstrong, of Silver Creek; Nathan G. and Walter N. Armstrong of Newhebron.
