ELIZABETH BOWEN FARBER

Elizabeth Bowen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. N. B. Bowen, was born at Chariton, Iowa, Feb. 6, 1855, and died at her home in Hoxie, Kansas, Oct. 5, 1950, at the age of 95 years, seven months and 28 days.

She was married Feb. 11, 1884, to Caleb Farber, a farmer and stockman at Fairport, Mo., where they resided for two years. In the spring of 1886 they moved to Portis, Kansas. In the fall of the same year they located on a farm eight miles northwest of Hoxie, where they lived until failing health caused their retirement and they moved to Hoxie.

To this union three children were born, Ora, at home, Mrs. Minnie Davis, of Merced, Calif., and Elbert, who passed away several years ago, as did Mr. Farber.

Mrs. Farber was a sister of the late I. N. and H. L. Bowen, of Chariton.

Services were held at the Beardsley funeral home Sunday, Oct. 8, at 3:30 p.m. The Rev. Russell Shaw, of the Presbyterian church officiated. Burial was made in the Chariton cemetery.
