Alice Mae Compton Bryant was born in Greenville SC on May 14, 1926 and passed from this life on January 18, 2010. She was the daughter of Robert (Dude) Compton and Hattie Caldwell Compton. She was the middle child of nine children. She was married to the late Thomas Bryant. She had 4 children: Bill (deceased), Randy (Lynn), Rodger (Maureen), JoAnn (Rick) Dougherty, and a baby daughter who died as an infant. She had 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Her brothers (all deceased) were Harold, Fred, Bill, Jack, Jim, and Joe Compton. Her deceased sister was Mary Compton Kellett. She is survived by her sister, Carolyn Compton Head of Greenville SC. She had many nieces and nephews. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and sang in the choir there. She was retired from her job. Her funeral was held at Palms-Robarts Funeral Home and she will be entombed at Palms-Robarts Memorial Park on January 23, 2010.
