BOLTON, James "Jim" Jr., age 84, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2010. He is survived by his brother, William P. Bolton; his sister-in-law, Dottie; two nieces, Dorothy Anne Bolton Peecook and Harriette Bolton Horn; one great-niece, Lisa Peecook Johnson; two great-nephews, Jason Peecook, and Chase Horn; and two great-great-nieces, Isabella and Abbigail Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sadie and James Bolton Sr. Mr. Bolton was employed for 30 years by the City of Richmond as a Drafting Tech before his retirement in 1991. He served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman 2nd class. He attended Randolph-Macon College and was a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity. He had a long history as a licensed Ham Radio operator, taught the basics of ham radio, and supervised communications for a number of events in Eastern Virginia. Mr. Bolton was a member of The Sons of the Confederacy, Sons of the American Revolution, The Washington Family Descendants, as well as many other historical organizations. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, January 21 in Hollywood Cemetery. The Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
