Mary L. Boortz, 74, passed away Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010, in Granbury.
Funeral: 3 p.m. Wednesday at Wiley Funeral Home. Interment: Granbury Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Boortz was born July 29, 1935, in Blair, Okla., to Ernest and Myrtle Lomer Bowman. She married Clarence Walter "C.W." Boortz, Sept. 17, 1978, in Fort Worth. She was a former resident of Dallas, moving to Granbury in 1972. She did the accounting for Boortz Construction Company and later volunteered at Crossland 9th Grade Center and was a substitute teacher at Baccus Elementary School where she was known as "Ms. Mary." She was a member of the Harvest Church.
Survivors: Daughters, Sharon Hindman and Dee Langwell, both of Granbury, Darla Martinets and Buddy Cox of Taylor; son, Christopher Boortz of Granbury; stepson, Rodney Boortz and wife, Jennifer, of Fort Worth; five granddaughters; one grandson; three great-granddaughters; and three great-grandsons.
