"East Portland Band, 1881. (T. H. Parrott, Leader.) Winner of First Prize of $125 and Gold Medal for Leader, in Band Contest at Mechanics' Pavilion, Portland, July 5, 1881, Given by the firm of Mellis Bros. for the Best Brass Band in the State of Oregon, and for which three other Bands entered."

Includes leader Thomas H. Parrott and his sons S. Henry, Armand G., Thomas W., and Walter E., plus relatives William C. Everest and his sons John H. and Alfred Everest.

[This photograph was handed down through the family and was scanned and edited in 2002 by Susan D. Engle (a descendant of T. H. Parrott).]
