Mrs. Margaret Alexander
Mrs. Margaret Alexander of Paxton, for many years a prominant resident of the Elliott neighborhood, died at her home at the county seat at 9:30 pm, on Friday Sept. 17, age 78 years. She had been in failing health for several months.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 pm, on Sunday at the home, in charge of Rev. J. Howard Smith of Hooperston, assisted by Rev. Paul L. Arnold, pastor of th Paxton Presbyterian church. Burial was in Glen cemetery.
Mrs. Alexander was born May 20, 1859, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Myers of Henry. She was married in 1878 to Clarence M. Alexander at Pittsburgh, Pa. Following their marriage they moved to a farm near Elliott, where they resided until 1907, when the retired and removed to Paxton. Her husband died in 1909. She was a member of the Presbyterian church in Paxton.
Surviving are two sons, Dr. Charles Alexander of Champaign and Earl M. Alexander of Piper City: two daughters, Mrs, Grace Cox, of Fisher, and Miss Bertha Alexander of Paxton: on brother, William Myers of Walnut, Ia., and six grandchildren.
