William S. HARTSHORN born 7 Jul 1834 in Petersburg, Rensselaer, New York. William was a First Lieutenant in the 169th New York Volunteers. He and his wife resided in Burnt Hills, Saratoga Co., New York, and Newark, New Jersey, ultimately returning to Petersburg where they resided near the "Hill Farm." He died 11 Jan 1900 in Petersburg, Rensselaer, New York; buried in Worthington Cemetery, Petersburg, New York. He married bef. 1853 in St. Barthol's Church, New York City, New York, Helen Vinton (SCRIPTURE) HARTSHORN, born 15 Aug 1836; died 19 Feb 1899 in Petersburg, Rensselaer, New York.
