LYONS - Eva I Battershell, 86, died April 16, 2005, at Lyons Good Samaritan Center.
She was born May 11, 1918, at Vrona, Okla., the daughter of John and Pearl Sutton Marshall. A longtime Rice County resident, she was a retired nurse's aide, working at Lyons District Hospital and the former Sterling Hospital.
She belonged to the Nazarene Church, Lyons.
On Nov. 26, 1936, she married Elmer T Battershell at Hutchinson. He died Aug 13, 2001.
Survivors include: three sons. Thomas, St Louis, Ed, Marion, and Curtis, Hutchinson; a daughter, Ann Fundenberger, Lyons; two brothers, Howard Marshall, Kansas City, Kan., and Paul, Carlton, Texas; a sister, Marcille Hubbard, Mitchell, SD; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and a great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Tener; and two grandsons.
Funeral will be at 10:30 am, Tuesday at the Nazarene Church, Lyons, with Dr Donald G Strohmeyer and the Rev Robert Friesen presiding. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 pm Monday at Sillin Funeral Home, Lyons. Burial will be in Lyons Municipal Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to the Nazarene Church or Lyons Good Samaritan Center, both in care of the funeral home.
