Daniel Cochenour is a son of Jacob and Elizabeth (Rhodes) Cochenour. He is of German descent and was born in the Shenendoah Valley of Virginia. He married Barbara Jordan, daughter of John and Molly (Breeding) Jordan on February 21, 1807. He and his family relocated to Westmoreland County about 1832. He is the father of: John, Abraham, David, Jacob, Mary and Catherine.
