Allene Massey, 88, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012, at a Weatherford care center. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Wednesday in Acton Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Biggers Funeral Home. Memorials: Memorial gifts may be made to National Marfan Foundation, www.marfan.org.
Allene was born March 26, 1924, to Mary Bernice and Robert Ivin McElroy. She married Raburn Massey on Aug. 19, 1939. She had been a longtime resident of Joshua and a member of the First Baptist Church in Joshua for over 60 years. She was presently a member of North Point Church. Allene had lived her life as a deacon's wife, a Sunday school teacher and WMU president. She loved gardening, sewing, fishing, and keeping her home. In the past 10 years, after becoming unable to care for her Joshua home, she moved to Boyd. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; four sisters; a grandson, Kevin Henderson; and son-in-law, Jack Imes.
Survivors: Daughters, Ann Imes of Granbury, Mary Hood and husband, Tom, of Boyd; grandchildren, Mark Imes of Granbury, Tammie Warner and husband, Simon, of Boyd; great-grandchildren, Joshua Imes of New York, Amanda Imes of Granbury, Andrew Henderson Boles of Waco, Steven Henderson of Boyd, Braden Thomas of Boyd; and a host of other family and friends.
