Donna Jean was born May 21, 1943 in Des Moines. She was a CNA and worked as an in home health care provider until her retirement two years ago. Donna Jean enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
Donna Jean is survived by her husband, John; daughters, Kim Mauro, Karla Genovese, Kelli Mauro and Toni Mauro; step-children, Theresa Aguiniga, Sandy Aguiniga, Vicky Cross and John Aguiniga, Jr.; brother, Jack (Judi) Wilson; 24 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence Whitaker and John Wilson, and by a son, Kevin Dean Mauro-Salyers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Private family burial will take place at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
