Marie E. Arter, 69, the widow of LeRoy M. Arter, died Thursday evening at the Hanover Hospital. she was formerly of E. King street, Littlestown. More recently she was a guest at the Robison Home for the Aged, New Oxford.
She was born in Carroll County, Md., a daughter of the late Harry and Helen Laughman Bowers. Her husband in 1974.
She had been employed with the Littlestown Manufacturing Company prior to her illness. She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God, Littlestown.
She is survived by two sons, Harry E. Brown of Valparaiso, Ind., and John Arter of Orrtanna; two brothers, Donald Bowers of Piney Pt. Md., and Joseph Bowers of McCommon, Idaho; four sisters, Hazel G. Smith of Littlestown, Ethel M. Bridinger of Littlwstown, Pearl J. O'Connor of Piney Pt., Md., Treva J. Laughlin of Newport; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Littles Funeral Home, Littlestown. The Rev. S.A. Garrett will officiate. Interment will be in the Piney Creek Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
