Our beloved Wayne Wilbourn went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 4, 2010. Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers will host a gathering of friends and family Thursday, January 7, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial services to celebrate his life of 75 years will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 8, at Indiana Avenue Baptist Church.

Carroll Wayne was born on February 28, 1934 to William and Emma Lee Wilbourn in Duncan, OK. He graduated from Plainview High School and Wayland Baptist University. Wayne was employed with Atmos, which was formerly Pioneer Natural Gas and Energas. He retired as a regional manager in February of 1993 after 26 years of service. On July 2, 1955 he married Naomi Carlton in Clovis, NM. Wayne was an active member of Indiana Avenue Baptist Church, where he served as president of Heaven Bound Sunday school class. He was a former member of the Tulia Rotary Club and the Plainview Optimist Club.

He was preceded in death by son, Jerry Wayne Wilbourn, who died on February 22, 2001.

Wayne is survived by his loving spouse of 54 years, Naomi; daughter, Lynne Brown of Euless, TX; grandchildren, Jerrett Alan Wilbourn and wife Lindsay of Magnolia, TX, Brant Alan Wilbourn and fiancée Ashley of College Station, TX, Amanda Lyn Kinney of Stillwater, OK, Silas Brown and wife Kelly of Wichita Falls, TX, Tyler Brown of Los Angeles, CA, Alyson Sloan and husband Jared of Richmond, TX, and Laci Sowder and husband Cody of Fort Worth, TX; great-grandson, Jett Brown of Wichita Falls, TX; sisters, Wilmoth Bellamy of Plainview, TX, Dorothy Frantz of Guymond, OK, Lois Rice of Canyon, TX, and Neva Jo Kampfer and husband Gary of Tyler, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
