IONIAN IS BEREAVED SUDDENLY
For the second time within two weeks the sudden death of close relatives saddened an Ionia home Friday.
The sudden death, from a heart attack, of Orlando Sage, 65, of Muir Friday morning at 6 o'clock, was the second time this month a member of the Benson Sage family of Lytle street lost close relatives suddenly this month.
Mr. Sage's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William D. Hansbarger of Lake Odessa died suddenly the morning of May 8 from heart attacks. Benson Sage is the son of Orlando Sage, Mr. and Mrs. Hansbarger died in their Lake Odessa home about ten minutes apart early on May 5. Mr. Hansbarger awoke to find his wife ill and when he returned with a neighbor, whom he summoned for aid, to find her dead he dropped dead from the shock.
Orlando Sage died in the office of Dr. A.C. German in Lyons. Coroner Wallace Jackson who was summoned attributed death to a heart attack.
He was born at the family farm home on Star Route, Ionia, but moved to Muir as a child and lived all his life here. He was a building contractor and farmer.
Surviving are the wife, Dolly, a daughter, Mildred Shepard of Benzonia; two sons, Marvin and Benson Sage of Ionia; a stepson, Merle Dory of Belding; eight grandchildren; one sister, Julia Beardsley of Park Lake; three brothers, Oscar of Park Lake, George of Ionia and Philo of North Plains.
Services will be conducted at the Shaw-Rivett funeral home at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Delos McKown will officiate. Interment will be in the family lot, North Plains Cemetery.
