Wm. E. Journey lost his mother & father (Civil War) when he was less than two years old. Wm. had a sister, Mary Ellen, who was about 4 when her parents died. The children went to live with a couple by the name of Alfred & Nancy S. Peachee, who adopted them. (Info taken from the Pension records of Wm.'s father, Wm. Journey, from the NARA). Mary Ellen died when she was eight years old. Wm. died when he was 22. Haven't found the reason for his death. He is buried at Cornettsville Cemetery, Daviess Co., IN.
