Alice, daughter of Berry and Elizabeth (Shawley) See, was born November 12, 1867, probably in Scotland County.
She was united in marriage to Elias Aldridge Oct. 10, 1886. To this union 9 children were born, four of who preceded her in death.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons. The daughters are Mrs. George Blain of Lenox, Ia; Mrs. Vernie Arnold of Greentop; Mrs. Simpson Erwin of Willmathsville; and the two sons are Glen and Alva both of Willmathsville. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Also by one sister and one brother, Mrs. Elsie Wilton and Grover See, both of Portland, Ore.
In early girlhood she united with the Christian church, worshipping at Coffey and lived a consistent Christian life.
Her husband preceded her in death Aug. 30, 1945.
After her husband died, she closed out her farm property and stock at public sale and moved to Downing, where she lived for only a short time, again broke up housekeeping and since made her home with her daughter, Vernie Arnold at Greentop. She died there Sunday morning, June 6, after an illness of about four weeks.
Funeral services were held in Coffey church on Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. Perley M. Lind of Queen City. The body was laid to rest beside that of her husband in the Coffey cemetery.
