The only news that Oak Park people received from the family in regard to the death of Mrs. Herr was a clipping from a California newspaper, probably the Pasadena Star-News, although there was nothing on the clipping to indicate the newspaper or the date. It reported her death as follows:
"Funeral services for Mrs. Amelia Herr, widow of Isaac Herr, who was, prior to his death in 1930, connected with The Pasadena Star News, will be announced later by Reynolds and Salisbury, funeral directors. Mrs. Herr, beloved mother of Miss Charlotte Herr, Mrs. Harlow H. Parker and Thornton Herr, all of Pasadena, and Irving Herr, Cincinnati, 0., passed away yesterday at her home, 984 South Oakland avenue. She was a member of Pasadena Presbyterian church.
"Mrs. Herr lived quietly in Pasadena 14 years, during which time she was in failing health. She was, however, prominent in church and club work in Oak Park, Ill., where she-spent most of her married life. She was an active member of the 19th Century Club in Oak Park. Mrs. Herr was born in Dayton, O."
