SACRED
to the memory
of
MIDDLETON GLAZE
consort of Prudence Glaze
A native of South Carolina
born 8th Aug A.D. 1774
died 8th Sept A.D. 1832
To Mr Glaze's good sense was added a
temper naturally mild, amiable, and affec-
tionate, which rendered him beloved, respec-
ted, and esteemed by all who knew him. As
a husband and father, none was more fond,
more devoted; as a master, he was kind and
indulgent; as a neighbor, charitable, be-
loved; as a citizen, upright and useful; as
a christian, he died with the hope of a happy
immortality.
Young reader, from the plain but un-
sullied page of Middleton Glaze's life
treasure up unto your memory, this gol-
den lesson, that honesty, industry, and
frugality bring the sure reward of love,
respect, and affluence, in this world
and a brighter happiness in the world
to come.
