Married Squire Browne 19 Dec 1865 in Galesburg, MI

Aged Resident Passed On Lifetime Resident Here
Fannie Hawver Freer the second daughter of Fred P. and Mary L. Hawver was born December 20th, 1841 in Charleston on the farm now owned by Sidney Dunn. She was married to Squire Browne at the Congregational church of Galesburg December 19th, 1865. The young couple moved to Atchison, Kansas and thence to Missouri. A son and daughter were born to them, the latter dying in infancy. December 7th, 1872 Mr. Browne passed on and the widow and child returned to her parents in Michigan. She remained with them until 1877 when she was united in marriage to W. E. Freer. They lived on a farm near Comstock.
When Mr. Freer passed on about 20 years ago, Mrs. Freer moved to Galesburg where she was a member of the Congregational church. She kept her own home until eight years ago when she moved to the Lockhart home to keep house for Wm. E. Lockhart. This she did for two years, but the past six years she has been very feeble. During this time, she was very kindly cared for by Mr. and Mrs. John Triskett in the Lockhart home.
Mrs. Freer left this plane of existence Friday, February 25th at 10 A. M. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Mary Hunt of Seattle, Wash. and a brother, Fred Hawver of this place. The son of the first marriage. Fred S. Browne was at one time an instructor in a college in Wisconsin. He has not been heard from since the World War. The Galesburg Argus March 3, 1927 page 1
