"Mary "Jane" Bentz
Mary "Jane" Bentz, 81, Independence, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at her home.
Mrs. Bentz was born April 2, 1921, in Fremont, Neb. She married Kenneth C. Bentz on June 24, 1939, in Fremont. They opened a Coast to Coast Hardware store in Schuyler, Neb., in 1958, after selling the store, the moved to Independence in 1969. They then opened a Coast to Coast Hardware in Independence and enjoyed an early retirement.
Her survivors include her husband of 63 years, Kenneth C. Bentz, a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth D. and Karen Bentz, and a daughter and son-in-law, Linda L. and Don Sladek, all of Independence; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Speaks Suburban Chapel, Independence."
