When Guy was a young man, he played the violin and mandolin at dances. He took carloads of cattle to Kansas City. He lived at the family home until 1910 when he married Sarah ELLISON who stayed with the Bartons. They remained there several years to care for his mother and then moved to his place twenty-five miles southeast of Perryton on Wolf Creek in Ochiltree County. They were two miles from the present Lake Fryer. Guy and Sarah had a sympathetic feeling for orphan children. They kept Irene and Dove GLASGOW after their mother, Etta passed away and until they were old enough to attend school. After that, they kept them in the summer. At one time they kept several children from an orphanage in Canadian. They adopted a little girl, Q Bell (three months old) in 1922 but she died as a small child. Guy was a farmer rancher until their home burned, and they sold their land and bought a chicken farm near Amarillo. Later they bought a place in Arkansas where Guy passed away April 13, 1947, and is buried in the family plot in Lipscomb, Texas. Sarah lived in Perryton, Texas for some time, but in her last years she was cared for by friends, the Murl Gills', at Higgins, Texas and is buried in Lipscomb, Texas.

Foster, Opal, Dottie and Ida Qbelle.

Funeral services for Guy Clarence WIDMER were conducted Sunday afternoon at three o'clock in the Community Church at Lipscomb with Rev. Troy Plunk, pastor of First Christian Church, Canadian, officiating. Mr. WIDMER was 73 years old.
Guy WIDMER was born at Cawker City, Mitchell County, Kansas, July 22, 1874. He came with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John B. WIDMER to Lipscomb County in the Spring of 1887. For a number of years he was a farmer and rancher in Lipscomb County. During his early teens he joined the Christian Church.
He was married to Miss Sarah ELLISON at Carlsbad, New Mexico, December 12, 1910. Soon after the couple moved to Ochiltree County where they lived until March 1933, when on account of his failing health they moved to Havana, Arkansas, where he died Thursday.
He is survived by his wife; and adopted daughter, Mrs. Opal WATERS, Watsonville, California; and three sisters: Mrs. Beulah BELL, Guymon, Oklahoma; Mrs. A. R. KING, Canadian; and Mrs. William ROSE, Booker. Among the surviving nieces and nephews, is C. Lloyd KING, district attorney at Amarillo, who with his family attended the funeral.
Pallbearers were George SEITZ, George CUTTER, Sam HANDLY, H. O. PERRY, Claude BOWEN and David WRIGHT.
