Olive Littlefield Alexander was the daughter of Edmund Littlefield (1751-1806 Jefferson Co., NY) and Susanna Brown. Edmund was an early settler of Jefferson Co., but died shortly after settling there. There is no documentable list of Edmund and Susanna's children, but other data suggest the relationship. The History of Jefferson Co. says all the Littlefields in Jefferson Co. were the descendants of three brothers, including Edumund. By elimination and migration to Indiana along with Susanna, Olive must be a daughter of Edmund and Susnanna. Olive's brother, Ozias Littlefield, served in the ministry in Wisconsin, near where the Alexanders lived, and in Iowa in the church made famous by the song about the "Little Brown Church in the Vale".
