Deborah Douglas Adams, 82, of Brunswick died at home on Monday following a lengthy illness, surrounded by her family and friends.
She was born in Savannah, the daughter of William Walter Douglas and Deborah Adams Douglas.
Educated at Pope School, the Shipley School, Sweet Briar College and Haverford College, she was a devoted wife, mother and community servant. Mrs. Adams was active in the PTA, the American Association of University Women, the Mental Health Association, the Windsor Park Garden Club, the Colonial Dames and the Junior League. She served on the boards of Youth Estate and the Brunswick College Foundation.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Judge Ronald F. Adams; a daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Bob Rabbino of New York; sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Mary Adams of Brunswick and Douglas and Ginger Adams of St. Simons Island; grandchildren, Katherine Adams of Knoxville, Tenn., Debbie Rabbino of New York City, Elizabeth Adams of Athens, Anne D. Rabbino of Providence, R.I., Douglas, Eleanor, Caroline and Olivia Adams of St. Simons Island; and devoted care giver Phyllis Garrett.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church Building, The Ronald F. Adams Brunswick College Scholarship Fund or a charity of the donor's choice.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Brunswick with burial at Christ Church Frederica Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be nephews and great-nephews.
