Funeral services with the Rev. O.A. Langehough officiating were held Saturday afternoon from the First Lutheran church of St. Ansgar for Mrs. T.O. Bakken, 82, former resident, who passed away at her home in Minneapolis, Minn. July 1, 1946. Although she had suffered for several years from a serious heart condition her health and general strength began failing rapidly following the death of her husband only three and one half months ago. She was confined to her bed for some weeks and was ready and eager to go home to her Savior.

Anna Malena Bakken, nee Matson, the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mats Matson, was born on a farm in Fayette county, Iowa, September 14, 1863. She was baptized and confirmed by the Rev. Johan Carlson in the Hauge Lutheran church south of Ossian, Iowa.

On May 19, 1880, she was married to Thore O. Bakken at Calmar, Iowa, where they established a home on the Bakken homestead. Some years later they moved to St. Ansgar where they resided for 26 years, later moving to Buffalo, N.D., and thence to Minneapolis where they have made their home the past 20 years.

She is survived by all of her children, five daughters and one son. One sister, Mrs. Ellen Huglen of Christine, N.D., nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters and her husband.

Memorial gifts to the amount of $200.00 have been sent in by relatives and friends.

Services were also held at the Welander-Quist South Chapel, Minneapolis, Minn., on Friday evening, the Rev. R.C. Reinholtzen of Central Lutheran church officiating.

The eldest daughter, Marie, who could not be present at St. Ansgar, attended these services. Other near relatives were nieces, Marie Oien of Walker, Minn., and Anna Matson Hanson, St. Paul.

Pallbearers were the grandsons Adrian Riveland, Edwin Isakson, Marlowe Isakson, Oliver Bakken Jr., Don Amundsen and grand nephew Otto Hendrickson.

Those present from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. Cornell Riveland and son Adrian, Luana, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Don Amundsen, Ossian, Iowa; Mrs. Edwin Soriede, Iowa City, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. A.E. Isakson and sons, Edwin and Marlowe, Cokato, Minn,; Mr. and Mrs. Oliver T.
