She proudly earned her degree in nursing from Methodist Hospital and would work as a private-duty registered nurse for most of her life, retiring in 1982. She was a member of First Meridian Heights Presbyterian Church, Broad Ripple Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star for 50 years, Caroline Scott Harrison Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Phi Beta Psi Sorority.
Gertrude enjoyed summer weekends at her cottage on Lake Shafer with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Max A. Albrecht and daughter, Judith Ann Albrecht.
Gertrude is survived by her daughter, Gloria Toscano; son, David (Margaret) Albrecht; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
