Mary Grace Marquez, age 71, of Santa Rosa, NM passed away December 19, 2009 at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque following a sudden illness. Mary was born on April 4, 1938 in Canoncito, NM to the home of Alfredo and Patricia Saiz Roybal.
Mary was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church. She enjoyed spending time with her children and her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister; Amelia Garcia, brothers; Herman Roybal and Frank Roybal and her grandson; Christopher Marquez.
Survivors include her children; Joann Martinez and husband Mario of Virginia, Sharon Hobbs and husband Jay of Santa Rosa, Louie E. Marquez and wife Susan of Puerto De Luna, Michael R. Marquez and wife Cindy of Ohio, Theresa Flores and husband Jorge of Edgewood, Alfred J Marquez of Laguna and Larry DuWayne Marquez and wife Ann of Ohio. Brothers and sisters; Teresita Chavez, Arturo Roybal, Isais Roybal, Marcelina Esquibel all of Las Vegas, NM and Isabel Gomez of Santa Rosa. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, numerous nieces nephews and a host of realtives and friends.
Rosary services will be held on Tuesday, December 22, at 7:00 PM from Nuestra Senora de Refugio Church in Puerto De Luna. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 10:00 AM also from Nuestra Senora de Refugio Church with Father Joseph Thomas, CMI officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Serving as Pallbearers will be her grandchildren; L.K. Pruitt, Jose Marquez, Ernesto Marquez, Juston Gasper, Penny Pruitt, William Simms, Cassandra Marquez, Mindy Marquez, Sarah Garcia and Isaac Flores. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be the rest of her grandchildren.
