Jim Pounders was born in Belgreen, Franklin County, Alabama. When very young he accepted Christ and has lived a true Christian life since. He married Mary Susan Cain in 1887. To them twelve children were born, eleven of whom are living. They moved to Caldwell County, Texas in 1896 and moved to the Tanglewood community in 1912, where they lived until December 1940 when they moved to Rockdale. He had been in bad health for some time and had been in bed for about six months. Death claimed him in Rockdale Sunday morning at 3:15 a.m. Services were conducted by Rev. H.E. Crone of Rockdale in the Christian Church of Tanglewood on Monday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. Rockdale Reporter, December 1942
