Father Elledge was a retired Colonel in the U.S. Air Force and served during Vietnam and Desert Storm. He was a graduate of Ohio State University and earned his Masters of Divinity from the University of the South. He recently retired from parish ministry at St. John's Episcopal Church in Havre de Grace, Maryland where he was named Rector Emeritus.
He was the husband of 25 years to Mindy Elledge, of Havre de Grace. He was the father of John H. Elledge, III and his wife Iris, Jennifer Elledge Dillon and her husband Barry, Heather Gallagher, and Kimberley Semco. He was the adored grandfather of seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Father Elledge served on the Commission on Ministry for the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland, the Havre de Grace Ministerium, and the boards of Grace Place and St. John's Towers. He was a member of the Harford Choral Society, the Military Officers Association, and the VFW, He loved flying, photography and music.
A service will be held on Saturday, December 19, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church, 114 North Union Avenue, Havre de Grace Maryland 21078. The Right Reverend John Rabb, Bishop, will officiate.
