Funeral services were held Monday at 1 p.m. in the Vernal Third Ward Chapel in the Vernal Third Ward Chapel for Hazel M. Allen, 85.
Bishop C. Brian O'Neil officiated. Family prayer at the mortuary was by Bill Williamson. Prelude and postlude was by Melba Sargent. The first musical "I Know My Heavenly Father Knows" was by the Walker quartet, Frank and Don Walker, Lois Erickson and Marva Lent, accompanied by Ruth Walker.
Invocation was pronounced by Duane Johnson, followed by remarks by Bishop O'Neil. Bishop Joe Winder was the first speaker. The second musical "That Wonderful Mother of Mine" was sung by Kathy Evans.
Ernest Johnson was the concluding speaker. The concluding musical, "Abide With Me", was by Walker quartet. Bishop Venil Johnson pronounced the benediction.
Interment was in the Maeser cemetery. Verdin Johnson dedicated the grave. Pallbearers were Phil Roberts, Alan Henstreet, Gary Lyman, Danny Allen, Raymond Allen and Michale Allen. Vernal Third Ward Relief Society was in charge of flowers.
Mrs. Allen died in the Snyder Rest Home in Vernal March 1 at 11:15 a.m. She was born December 29. 1889 in Jensen, Utah to Andrew Johnson and Emma Rasmussen Johnson. She married Archie Francis Allen September 29, 1909 in Maeser Ward. He preceded her in death November 13, 1967. She was a housewife and a member of the LDS Church.
Survivors: three sons, four daughter, Floyd F., A. Keith, both of Vernal; Merle R., Whiterocks, Utah; Mrs. Herman (Neva) Bingham, Vernal; Mrs. Bill (Andrea) Williamson, Vernal; Mrs. Don K. (Norma) Roberts, Phoenix, Arizona; Mrs. Lorin (Naomi) Hardison, Chico, California; 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; two brothers, two sisters, Verdin Johnson, Belview, Washington; Mrs. Richard (Orfa) Smith, Naples, Florida and Mrs. Robert (Winona) Seawall, Bluthe, California.
