Mr. John Henry Tesh, 68, of 503 Park Avenue, Greensboro, died Monday, May 19, 1997, at the Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
The graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 1997, in the Maple Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Tesh was born August 13, 1928, in Surry County, to the late Oscar J. and Daisy Copeland Tesh, and was retired from Industrial Wood Products.
Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Tommy Sparrow of Balenica, Calif., Sheila and Dale Inman of Mt. Airy, and Cindy and Jeff Caudle of Greensboro; two sons and daughter-in-law, David Wayne and Lola Tesh of Greensboro, and Johnny Ray Tesh of High Point; six grandchildren; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Ethel and Calvin Hall of Ararat, Va., Blanche and Jack Hawks, and Martha Moorefield, all of Mt. Airy; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Moorefield and Rachel Tesh, and Ray and Hilda Tesh, all of Mt. Airy; a brother-in-law, Wayne Scott of Mt. Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Tesh was preceded in death by four sisters, Ruth Tesh, Pauline Burch, Ida Mae Tesh and Betty Louise Scott; and by a brother, David Franklin Tesh.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.Johnny was the son of Oscar Jordan Tesh and Daisy Copeland Tesh. He was 68 years, 9 months, and 6 days old.
Services were conducted Thursday May 22, 1997 at 11 am. A graveside service was held at Maple Grove UMC.
Clergy: Rev. Elmo Hiatt and Rev. Claude Haynes.
Mr. Tesh was proceeded by four sisters, Ruth Tesh, Pauline Burch, Ida Mae Tesh, and Betty Louise Tesh, (two others as infants), and brother, David Franklin Tesh (WWII in the Phillipines).
