Born at Manila, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Lillie Mae Williams Carter and had been a lifelong Manila resident.
She was a Class of 1964 graduate of Manila High School, a member of the Business Women of Manila and was retired from Merchant and Planters Bank in Manila after 36 years of service. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Manila and was active in the Methodist Women's Group until her illness prevented her from doing so.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Carroll Willard Carter, in 2003; and her stepfather, D.A. Walker.
She is survived by two nieces, Cindy Bunch and Donna McCormick, both of Manila; and a great-nephew, Carl Richard Bunch of Manila.
Burial was in Manila Cemetery.
