SANTIAGO (JIM) A. ABEYTA Age 71, a resident of Espanola, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 15, 2009. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Nancy Abeyta; parents, Jose Abedon Abeyta and Irene Suazo Abeyta; brother, Levi Abeyta; sisters, Eloisa Garcia and Berley Lamuth; grandson, Aaron Garcia. He dedicated his life to helping people and established R.A.P. in its current location on Airport Road in Santa Fe. He reinvigorated the importance of his spiritual life during his later years. Mr. Abeyta is survived by his children: Henry Abeyta and wife Darlene of Albuquerque, Janice Martinez and husband Sam of Chimayo, Natalie Salazar and husband Julian of Albuquerque, Chris Abeyta and wife Sabrina of Rio Rancho and LeAnn Abeyta-Baca of Espanola; sister, Loretta Valdez and husband Herman of Albuquerque; grandchildren: Brian, Daniel, Manuel, Felicia, Joshua, Vanessa, Bryce, Ryan, Jayce, Angel and Davina; great grandchildren: Thalia, Elias, Kayleerey, Mariela and Aaron; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Cremation is being planned. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, December 20, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 21, 2009, 10 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada. Burial to follow at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
