The subject of this sketch was born October 19, 1884 in Deerfield, Wis and there grew to manhood. On September 25, 1906 he was united in marriage with Miss Carrie Monroe. She, with his mother, five brothers and two sister, now deeply mourn his death which occurred February 2, 1908, after a two weeks' illness with pneumonia. The funeral ws held Tuesday at Forest City school house where Rev A H Smith of Hancock spoke comforting words to the grief stricken wife and family. Interment ws made in Wautoma cemetery. His death has brought the bitter cup of sorrow to the lips of friends and relatives. Sad, indeed, was the taking away of one so young and full of hope, but those to whom his life was dear have the consolation of knowing that he died trusting in his Savior, and this brings a balm to their wounded hearts.
