Charlotte E. Adams, age 82, Shawano, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009 in Shawano.
She was born on July 25, 1927 in the Town of Pella daughter of the late Albert and Mathilda (Reinke) Schultz. Charlotte married Allen E. Adams on June 18, 1949, in Leopolis, he preceded her in death on Sept. 27, 2007. Charlotte was the deputy clerk for the Town of Pella for 33 years, and a member of the Altar Guild at Zion Lutheran Church of Caroline for many years. She enjoyed cake decorating, making gingerbread houses and making baby quilts.
She is survived by: her daughter, Diane (Steven) Dahms of Appleton; two grandchildren, Erin (Josh) Short of Salinas, Calif. and Erik (Adrianne) Dahms of Shamong, N.J.; and two great-grandchildren, Zack Dahms and Amelia Short. Charlotte is further survived by sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Arlene Schultz, Elaine (Felix) Zalewski, Margaret Adams, and Dessie Adams.
Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Allen; two sisters, Dorothy Haut and Jean Schultz; and a brother, Roger Schultz.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 21, at Zion Lutheran Church, Caroline, with the Rev. Craig Nehring officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Family and friends may call at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Monday after 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
A memorial fund in Charlotte's name has been established for Zion Lutheran Church of Caroline.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Tod Lewis, Dr. George Beiser, the staff at Shawano Medical Center and especially Tonya, Kara and the staff at The Cottages.
