Hazel Smith Dennis, 70, passed away with a brain aneurysm on Tuesday, December 28, 2004. Born March 2, 1934 in Charlotte, NC, to James Dennis Smith and Lilly May Starnes Smith. Hazel met and married Mott Blair Dennis in Troy, NC, on June 25, 1955. Hazel and Mott moved to Tulsa, OK, in August, 1976, with their three daughters to open the Western Sizzlin Steak House. Her greatest joy was her family and weekends at Grand Lake. She was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother who always put others first before herself. She was deeply loved and will be sadly missed. Hazel was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Beth Dennis in 1982. Survived by her husband, daughters, and grandchildren. Service will be 11 a.m., Monday, January 3, 2005 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Hazel Smith was the daughter of James Dennis Smith and Lily Mae Starnes. She was the only daughter and had three brothers: Wayne Leander Smith, James Dennis Smith, and Ned Smith. She outlived all of her brothers.

Hazel married Mott Blair "M.B." Dennis Jr. on 25 Jun 1955 in Troy, N.C. They had three beautiful daughters: Mary Lynne Dennis, Nancy Beth Dennis, and Julie Blair Dennis. M.B. was the son of Mott Blair Dennis Sr. and Estelle Staley.
