Mrs. Louise Eastburn
Louise H. Benway, daughter of H.L. and Myra Benway, was born at Norwood, Lucas county, Iowa, Oct. 17. 1902 and died at Iowa City Thursday, Nov. 5, 1942, aged 40 years and 29 days.
When ten years of age she moved to Allerton with her parents where she had lived since. She united with the Christian church at an early age, later uniting with the Methodist church in Allerton.
She was married to Glenn Eastburn July 16, 1924.
She was a member of the order of Eastern Star and of the American Legion Auxillary of Allerton. Members of both organizations attended the funeral in a body.
She is survived by her father and stepmother of Chariton; her mother, Mrs. Myra Oliver, of Fairfield; eight brothers and four sisters; Willard Benway, of Boiling, Ark.; Bud Benway, of Charleston, W. Va.; John Benway in the U.S.army and Paul Oliver in the U.S. navy; Lester Benway and Mrs. Dorothy Merrill, of Ottumwa, Ia.; Mrs. Alice Wishart and Mayme, Rex, Harold and Harvey Benway of Chariton, Ia., and Mrs. Mable Conner, of Fall River, Nebr.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Nov. 8, at the Allerton Methodist church with the pastor, the Rev. S. P. Trostle, officiating. Burial was in the Allerton cemetery.
