SALT LAKE CITY--Sarah Adele Kunz Dransfield, died at her home in Salt Lake City, on December 14, 1999. Adele was born May 20, 1953, at Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended Ogden City Schools and graduated from Ogden High School in 1971. Adele attended the University of Utah, where she was affiliated with the Chi Omega Sorority. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology, with high honors from the University of Utah in 1976. Adele worked for several years as a travel agent, before enrolling in the University of Utah School of Business, MBA program, where she graduated as a "Dean's Scholar" with an MBA in 1983. During her lifetime she had become an accomplished pianist. She enjoyed designing and working needlepoint. She was an avid gardener with a great love for the beauties of nature. She was a reader of books about art, history, philosophy and religion, and she had a special interest in books for young children. Adele was constantly challenging her keen intellect. In recent years she focused her energies on interior design. She was a person of multiple talents and who was always striving for perfection. For the last fourteen years Adele gallantly and courageously endured the constant physical pain resulting from the removal of a tumor on her lower spine. Being with her nieces and nephews was one of her greatest pleasures.
Adele married David S. Dransfield in the Salt Lake Temple in June, 1983; they were divorced in 1998. Adele is the daughter of Paul T. Kunz and Sarah M. Kunz. She is survived by three brothers and one sister, Frederick L. Kunz (Sharon) of Redmond, WA.; Walter M. Kunz, (Karen) of Prairie Village, Kansas; Paul C. Kunz,(Cynthia) of Ogden, Utah, and Mary M. Peterson, (Gordon) of Salt Lake City, Utah. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 18th at 3 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. The family will meet with friends at the mortuary on Friday, December17th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 2 to 2:45 p.m. Interment, Lindquist's Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, Ogden, Utah. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the new McKay-Dee Hospital Building Fund or a charity of your choice."
