Death of Mrs. Kelleher
Mrs. John Kelleher, wife of County Commissioner Kelleher, died at her home near Maxwell at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, July 19th.
Mrs. Kelleher was 32 years of age at the time of her death, the result of a complication of diseases, with typhoid fever developing at the last. By her death six little children, including a baby seven weeks old, are now left without a mother.
Funeral services were held in the hall in Maxwell on Tuesday afternoon. Father Devane of Sidney said mass, and Father McGovern of Omaha delivered the most eloquent and beautiful sermon, deeply touching the hearts of all who listened to the discourse.
Mrs. Ida Ottenstein rendered a funeral march from Chopin, and play accompaniments for Miss Anna Rebbausen who sang "Abide with us," "Some Sweet Day," and "Nearer My God to Thee."
Mrs. Kelleher was a find Christian woman and a tender loving mother. Her untimely death which cut her off in the early prime of life and severed so many home ties, is greatly deplored by many friends and neighbors. The sincerest sympathy and condolences are tendered Mr. Kelleher and his family in their deep sorrow.
The funeral was largely attended many friend from all over the neighboring country being present. The county officers and several family friends went from North Platte.
Mrs. Dolan, a sister of Mrs. Kelleher's, came from the east to attend the funeral services.
