Betty Ann Burr of Mount Dora, FL died from complications of Alzheimer's disease. She graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in education. Then she and her husband nurtured foster child after foster child, more than 140. She also helped start an early childhood program for underprivileged children at a Umatilla area preschool. She was predeceased by her husband, John Walter Burr, II and son James Noble Burr and surviving are sons, John Walter Burr, III and Bruce William Burr; brother, Everett Lovering; sister, Joan Jerome; 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. A Memorial Service will be held at St Edwards Episcopal Church, Mount Dora. Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home is serving the family. Published in Orlando Sentinel October 10, 2002.
