Travis Chad Woody

Travis Chad Woody, 27, of Etowah, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, at his residence due to complications from diabetes.

He was born in Oxford, England, on Jan. 10, 1982, and was a resident of Etowah since 1994. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Cecil Townsend, formerly of Etowah; and his paternal grandfather, Lloyd Woody, formerly of Englewood.

He is survived and will be truly missed by his parents, Randy and Cecelia Kay "C.K" Woody of Etowah; a most loving sister and brother-in-law, Stephanie and Matthew Riffey of Knoxville; special nieces, Katie and Emma Riffey, both of Knoxville; his maternal grandmother, JoAnn Townsend of Etowah; his paternal grandmother, Nina Thomas of Englewood; his paternal grandfather, Clay Thomas of Etowah; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be 8 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Baptist Church, located at 515 Washington Avenue in Etowah with Brother Don Harris officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Bordwine Funeral Home of Etowah is in charge of arrangements.
