Sophia Houck was the daughter of William Houck and Eleanor or Ellen McClanskey Hall. She married twice; first to Jacob Bridenstine about 1826 in Pennsylvania and had two children:
1) Rebecca (1827 - 1828
2) James (1829 - 1925)
Jacob Bridenstine died in 1836.

Sophia married second to John Alloway (1806-1890) on 17 Jan 1837 in Pennsylvania.
Sophia and John had at least 6 children:

1) Mary Jane Alloway (1838 - 1914)
2) William John Alloway (1840 -1913)
3) Eleanor Alloway(ca.1843 - 1922)
4) Ezra Alloway (ca. 1847 -1850)
5) Elizabeth Alloway (1850-1937)
