Amos Sams, about 65, Indian who had lived at Hennepin for many years, was found dead near McAlester Friday, January 24. The body was lying in a pasture near a highway. It was estimated he had been dead for six days. He had been visiting a daughter at Wilburton and it was believed that he en route home when death struck. Funeral services where held at Hennepin Sunday, January 26.
