Minerva Foreman Jackson was born in Ridge, LA to Alcide Foreman and Zillian Spell. She had 2 childen, Annie Perry Wells and Leo Perry. She had 2 grandchildren, 6 great grandchilden and 3 great great grandchildren. Minerva came to live with the family of her granddaughter, Virginia Wells Marceaux, around 1948. She was "Big Mama" to my brother and me and "Mom" to our mother, the granddaughter she had raised from a small child. Big Mama was a devout Christian, had a kind and loving nature and liked to help our family out with housekeeping and cooking whenever she could. She passed away in December of 1966. Our Mom never stopped grieving for her...she loved her dearly.
