Don was the son of Charley Wesley and Glade (Hill) Austin. He married Bonnie Rogers on February 14, 1953 in Graham.
Don was a Veteran of the United States Air Force serving five years and received WW II Victory Metal, Korean Service Metal, and Japan Occupation Metal. He was a retired Church of God Minister for over 50 years and a member of the Graham Church of God.
Survivors at time of death included his wife, Bonnie Austin of Graham; one daughter, Cynthia Martin and husband Patrick of Graham; one son, Ricky Austin and wife LaDonna of Graham; and one sister, Janice Smith of Haltom City.
Don was preceded in death by a grandson, Max Valdez in 2007.
