Georgia Croft Bailey, 85, and a long-time Oak Ridger, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.

She was born Dec. 15, 1922, in Morganton, N.C., the daughter of Commodore and Mary Gilliam Burleson.

Mrs. Bailey graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She owned and operated Bouquets by Georgia for many years. She was a well-known artist and quilter and displayed her work in many of the local shows.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Cecil Bailey, on Feb. 5, 1999; a sister, brother and infant daughter, Sue Anne Bailey.

She is survived by daughters, Elaine Augustine of Florence, Ala., and her children, Chris, John Brady and Leah, Phyllis Green of New York and her children, Jeremy and Lori Elaine, Elizabeth 'Bet' Leffew and her husband, Duane, and their children, Kari and Kelsey of Clinton, and Karen Bailey and her children, Jenna and Ben of Knoxville; brother, Charlie Burleson and wife, Jean, of North Carolina; sisters, Margaret Crumley of Bristol, Va., Pat Howell and husband, Jack, of Morganton, N.C., and Elaine Clark and husband, Bobby, of Lynchburg, Va.; and eight great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by Beau, her dog, a faithful and loving companion.

Funeral services are Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, at 8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary with Robbie Underwood officiating. Graveside services are Saturday at 10 a.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
