Ralph Lee McKinney
DANSVILLE - Ralph Lee McKinney, 79, of Dansville died Monday, May 25, 2009, at his home.
Ralph was born in Crickmer, W. Va., on Oct. 27, 1929, the son of the late James and Delta McKinney. On Nov. 27, 1950, he married Bertha (Green) McKinney, who survives.
Ralph was a miner for most of his life and was a retired member of the United Mine Workers of America. He first began mining as a coal miner in West Virginia and then worked at the old Retsof Salt Mine in Retsof, N.Y. He was a Free and Accepted Mason and former member of the Dansville Moose Lodge.
Besides his wife Bertha, Ralph is survived by his sons Larry (Susan) McKinney and Jerry (Norma) McKinney of Dansville; brother James (Martha) McKinney of Dansville; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no prior calling hours. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dansville Ambulance Co., P.O. Box, Dansville, NY 14437 or the Livingston County Hospice Fund, Bldg. 2, Mt. Morris, NY 14510. Arrangements have been by Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 4 Perine St., Dansville.
