Black Families of the Ozarks Vol. 2 Greene County Archives Bulletin number forty five. Greene County Archives and Records Office of the County Clerk on Boonville Ave. Springfield, MO. pages 366 through 416.
BATEMAN, STELLA AGE 34 DOD 2 MAY 1920 FEMALE
The name listed after her was Idabelle Bateman a 3 month old child that died the same day. I suspected they were related. I checked the census at ancestry after looking up the death certificates for both of them. On her death cert. is showed the name of her father spelled as Wysnes, and on the child as Wisner. As you can see by the listing I have chosen to use Wisner until I find something differnt.

Cause of death was pulmonary tuberculosis. Parents listed as Simon Wisnes of MO. and mother listed Unknown of TN. They lived at 715 Minor at the time of her death. Husband and informant was Fred Bateman.

Source Citation: Year: 1920;Census Place: Springfield Ward 6, Greene, Missouri; Roll T625_915; Page: 14B; Enumeration District: 42; Image: 846.
