Daughter of the Rev. Edward Evans Parrish and his second wife Rebecca Anne Maple, who were early pioneers of Oregon territory. She first married Samuel Erastus May on May 13, 1852 and they were the parents of 3 children:

Frank Barnam MAY b. 1853
Ada Eugenie MAY 1857 – 1909
George Walcott MAY b. 1862

Divorced from Samuel May around 1880, she married secondly James R. Robb (1816-1890), also an early pioneer of Oregon territory. He had been widowed by her sister Elizabeth Ellen Parrish. Thirdly, she married William Madison Steele in 1898. Died of Pneumonia in 1909.
